The Left Turn Novel

If your past VANISHED . . . Who might you become?

Hannah, a forty-six year old author plagued with anxiety, and her partner James, an HR recruiter caught in a headlock of grief over his brother’s death, are as desperate for inner peace as they are clueless about how to find it.

But will they be able to let go of their deeply ingrained subconscious beliefs about life and themselves to embrace the unfamiliar potentials they now face?

My Books Arrived!

Sunday I got back home and there were boxes waiting for me. The print copies I’d ordered of The Left Turn: Two Lives, Worlds Apart. You can see my box opening excitement on TikTok.

From Retreat to Full Tilt—or Not

Last week I was on retreat with my mentor Steve Napolitan and several of his coaches and clients. It was wonderful—in the actual meaning of that word. Slowing down long enough to really spend time in gratitude, meditation, mindset, healing, and strategy for the life I want to experience is a true blessing. On the long drive back from south of San Francisco to Portland, my mind conjured lyrics to a song that I’ll share below.

There is a strong tendency, though, to leap back into full swing go go go mode. Work with deadlines to be met, goals to achieve, responsibilities and expectations, all add pressure to push harder on the gas pedal. But my intention is to acknowledge those feelings and to make a different choice. Not to resist. To choose an alternate path.

Lyrics to a Blossoming Song

Tending the garden of my dreams each day
The weeds of my impatience plant themselves along the way
Yes if I want the Universe to speed things up I know
I’m better off not going fast, it’s better I go slow.

We all have heard the fable of the tortoise and the hare
Yet we tend to persevere as if there is no wisdom there.

Dreams are manifesting all around us every day
But I’m not the conductor of the music that they play.
The notes of my intention and the rhythm of my days
With the rests of meditation form the song that my life plays.

Our lives all weave together in a symphony unbounded
By imagined limitations we believe but are unfounded.
When it seems our dreams are dashed on rocks of harsh reality,
The pieces washed out with the tide of “What will be will be,”

Remember, for the Universe to speed things up we know
We’re better off not going fast, it’s better we go slow.
For dreams are manifesting all around us every day
And we are not conductors of the music that they play.
The notes of our intentions and the rhythms of our days
With the rests of meditation form the song that our life plays.

So gently tend the garden of your dreams and watch them grow.
Pull the weeds in meditation and let abundance flow.
