The Left Turn Novel
If your past VANISHED . . . Who might you become?
Hannah, a forty-six year old author plagued with anxiety, and her partner James, an HR recruiter caught in a headlock of grief over his brother’s death, are as desperate for inner peace as they are clueless about how to find it.
But will they be able to let go of their deeply ingrained subconscious beliefs about life and themselves to embrace the unfamiliar potentials they now face?
Undone Season 2 Episode 1 (S2E1) – Synchronicities
As I’ve been rewatching Amazon Prime’s UNDONE series, I’ve discovered some additional common traits that I wanted to share. But first, a quote from UNDONE‘s protagonist:
“The world’s a magical place and anything is possible.”
Oh, yes, Alma, indeed!
And later after the timelines realign:
“The appearance that we’re separate is only an illusion.”
In Season 2, Alma’s consciousness realigns with the other version of herself that has been living her life in a different plane, or at least with a different timeline and set of experiences. Which seems like pretty much like two different ways of saying the same thing. Anyway, when this happens, she starts to have memories from her other self, the one we haven’t been following. Her knowledge and experiences from that plane gradually start to come to her—as her memories, but newly experienced.
When I watched that again I was struck by how similar that is to the experience of Hannah, the protagonist in The Left Turn. It just takes a little longer, but she has these sensory experiences that hook her in to the past that feels new to her. It was exciting to experience the synchronicity of these two works of fiction!
Synchronicity Between Dreams and Viewing
About 3 weeks ago I was on the phone with my ex-husband (we’re good friends). The evening before I was watching UNDONE, and—hopefully not giving any spoilers with this—in particular there were several repeated images—since time frequently loops back on itself—that included a car driving off a cliff with a man in the driver’s seat and woman in the passenger seat.
My ex had called to tell me about this dream he’d had the night before. And as I listened to all the imagery from the dream, including him driving off a cliff with me in the passenger seat, I was blown away by how many of the images he described sounded just like what I’d been watching the evening before.
Coincidence? One could try dismissing it with that if they were not inclined to recognize how unlikely it is that he would dream so many of the images I’d just watched—right down to the colors.
We are connected. As Alma says, “The appearance that we’re separate is only an illusion.”
